I don't think it's the price of the system that is keeping it from selling. I think Japanese gamers just aren't interested. I read a while back that this may be so because the games available for the 360 just don't interest them.

Once they start sending you a bill, they tack on whatever extra charges they can, because they "have to". I really like how Verizon wasn't going to give up this revenue. They just relabeled the charge to please the FCC. Lays bare how telcos really bill you.

Wow! I have used Yahoo finance for years and was getting a little scared for them seeing the features the new Google finance offers (as the article talks about). I have been a little tempted to try Google some.

I don't think it's code actually. As I recall, it's just information on how to interface to their software. An example is the protocol for connecting to Windows servers. As I recall the antitrust ruling asked that they make information on how to do this more public.

Microsoft seems to think it's somehow going to just squeak by like it did with the US DOJ. I don't think that's going to happen. They may very well eventually become liable for these fines and even for a company that has billions, these amounts still matter.
